Meet Chadwick

  • Chadwick the koi carp and Steve the sturgeon went missing from Romsey World of Water (RWW)Picture1
  • During winter floods in February 2014, RWW were forced opened their main gates
  • This led to Chadwick and Steve escaping
  • A few weeks late Steve was found in a flooded petrol station
  • Chadwick was feared lost
  • One month later, the RWW team sighted Chadwick 7.5 miles away from RWW
  • They set out to rescue Chadwick using fish bags, a net and some bread
  • While injured, Chadwick was saved
  • After 17 days in heated quarantine, Chadwick was reunited with Steve the Sturgeon

Hail stones in the North East

  • On 1 July, the North East was hit by extreme hailstormsPicture2 Picture3
  • Damages to cars amounted to over £1m
  • LV= sent a team straight there to take care of LV= customers
  • Experts were flown in from Portugal to help repair the car damages
  • Front page features in The Northern Echo and The Durham Times

Laundry Fire

  • A commercial laundry building caught firePicture4
  • 4 weeks after the report, the broker requested a meeting at the site
  • 4 days later; 2 LV= employees visited the site and discussed possible outcomes
  • The deal was finalised later that day over a conference call
  • A cheque for £950,000 was mailed the same day
  • From damage to insurance pay-out in less than 5 weeks

Commercial Claims

  • Our client lives in one of three flats in a large converted Victorian terracePicture5
  • All three flats were separately insured and equally responsible for common areas such as the roof
  • During a storm, a tree fell on the terrace’s roof
  • One of the residents called their insurer who appointed a loss adjuster
  • The insurer took a long time to fix the damage or even respond to their client
  • LV= contacted the customer’s insurer and made sure the insurer took action to fix the damage
  • LV= then sent a loss adjustor with the view of issuing a cash settlement
  • Our client is very happy with the way LV= handled the claim and both neighbours were so impressed that one is now insured with LV= and the other is planning to switch to LV= at renewal!
