Our people in the community

Our people love to get involved in raising money for charity and we do all we can to help them in their fundraising and volunteering ambitions.

Here are just some of the success stories from the last couple of months:

A garden for Ruby

There were no computers in sight when the Broker Marketing Team took to the outdoors to create a garden for Ruby as part of the Well Child Helping Hands project. The team took on a 2 day challenge to turn an area of grass into decking and a sunshade with sensory toys, mirrors, flowers and colourful artwork to give Ruby a lovely outdoor space.

It was a fantastic project to be a part of and will make a huge difference to Ruby and her family, just in time for the school holidays. We were also able to make a donation of £1,000 towards the cost of materials for this garden makeover.

Stuart Frost 2Stuart struts his stuff

Friday 3 July saw Stuart Frost (Branch Manager – Manchester) make his debut as a male model at Manchester CII’s annual charity fashion show Style in the City. Think vintage…think 1950s… because fashion never dies…

Vintage singer Kiki DeVille hosted this year’s event! As a favourite performer at the world-famous Madame Jojo’s in Soho, and previous contestant in Will-I-Am’s team on BBC The Voice UK season 3, Stuart FrostKiki kept the crowd entertained during the afternoon in true vintage style.

Stuart stole the show, getting the loudest cheer from his adoring fans, modelling suits for Slaters Menswear in front of a 500+ crowd.

The event has raised around £3,500 so far for two local autism charities.

  • Haylee Barratt, Commercial Package Underwriter walked 100 miles for charity raising £1715 (including £500 matched from LV=) for The Rocking Horse Charity for Alexandra children’s hospital in Brighton
  • Sara Groves, Commercial Package Team Manager raising £486 for Teens Unite by running 10k.
