Motorcycle security isn’t just important to the police, it’s also important to your customers. As motorcycle insurers, we feel we have a duty to not just offer peace of mind that the customer is covered in the event of theft, but also to help reduce these crimes from occurring in the first place.
This is why we were so keen to be involved in the Motorcycle Security discussions recently held at New Scotland Yard on 21 July.
We were invited to attend so that we could share our knowledge and ideas with the police and MCIA (Motorcycle Industry Association) and contribute to the debate to help with crime prevention. The police reported that they seen a sharp increase in the number of scooters and mopeds being stolen in London in 2017, as these stolen vehicles are then often used for committing other serious crimes.
