The results are now in for our build a heart and Rooftop Runner…the return competitions.
Over 1,879 players battled it out on our rooftop this Christmas to make it onto the LV= leader board, for the chance to win £500 for a charity of their choice.
The highest score
The highest score of 172,038 went to Paul Sweeney, Senior Consultant from Bedford Insurance (pictured below ) who won a hamper full of tasty treats.
Upon receiving the prize, Paul said:
“I’m extremely happy to have come out on top this year after many years of being in the shadow of my colleague and great rival George Varney who I have finished behind for the past 3 years.
I feel this is the start of a new era and believe I have the ability and dedication to stay at the top for many years to come. I hope in winning the title this year I can inspire all those people out there that with a little belief and a lot of hard work you can achieve your dreams.
I’ll be sharing these treats with my colleagues, friends and family as there is far too much for me to keep to myself.”
We’re delighted to announce the winner of the £500 charity donation is…
Marian Gilhooly, Account Handler/Transaction Broker, Romero Insurance
Here’s what Marian had to say:
“Over the moon & very humbled! They’re a local charity that cares for the terminally ill, their care is provided for free & open to all. They completely rely on donations.
Marian has chosen to give the £500 charity donation to…
St Gemma’s Hospice
St Gemma’s Hospice provides the best possible care and quality of life for local people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses – both at the Hospice and out in the community.
Catherine McCallum, Senior Corporate Fundraiser, St Gemma’s Hospice, said “On behalf of our staff and patients, we would like to say a huge thank you to Marian Gilhooly from Romero Insurance for choosing to donate her £500 prize money from the LV= Broker Christmas Rooftop Runner game to St Gemma’s Hospice.
St Gemma’s is rooted in the Leeds community and simply would not be able to care for local people with life-threatening illnesses without the amazing support of people like you. Your kind donation is enough to pay for a specialist bereavement session for five people, which can provide a vital lifeline in the most difficult of times. We are here to help make every day count for patients and their families and your donation has contributed to making this possible.”
Meet our 2019 build a heart winner
We’re happy to announce that the winner of the tasty treats with the best entry is…
Caroline Rooke, Director, Anthony D Evans Insurance Brokers & Co. Ltd
Pete Hobbins, Regional Account Manager, LV= Broker (pictured standing right), visited our winner’s office to see what Caroline (pictured standing on the left) had to say about her entry and win.
What inspired your submission?
Caroline: Well as you can see from the photo (pictured below), we have a little elf called Muffin. Unfortunately we cannot take any credit for the design as when we came in the office in the morning, Muffin had created the masterpiece for us and eaten most of the delicious chocolates we had. A cheeky little Elf.
What are you going to do with your prize?
Caroline: As the credit needs to go to Muffin – we will be sending the chocolate to the North Pole so she can share them with her other hard working elves who’ve been busy making toys in the lead up to Christmas.
How do you feel about your win?
Caroline: It was a great idea for a competition which got us all in the mood thinking about Christmas. We enjoyed looking through the submissions on the Facebook page as there were some great ideas and all very different. I have passed on the great news to Muffin via email to the North Pole and she is absolutely delighted and given us her permission to eat some of the chocolate on her behalf!
Thanks for having some fun with us this Christmas. We look forward to a great 2020 working partnership with you in the year ahead.
